Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has set itself new safety targets for the next year, and it wants you to comment on them.

The targets are to help the force meet its objectives within its Integrated Risk Management Plan, which are:

Making people safer in their homes
Making people safer at work and in public places
Making people safer on the roads
Making people safer in their communities
Making people safer in an emergency.

This years targets include:

Getting the first operational resource to all emergency incidents within ten minutes on 75 percent of occasions
Reducing the number of people killed or seriously injured on the roads by five percent in age groups 0-16, 17-24 and over 65s
Reducing the number of accidental dwelling fires by five percent

Chris Bailey, an area manager with Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, told Heart:

"I think they're all challenging because we have a number of fronts: roads, communities, workplaces, emergency response. Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has set all the targets to make sure that every member of staff is challenged to give the best possible value for money for the community."
