Woman attacked by two boys

Police in Luton are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery to come forward and help identify those responsible.

The incident happened on Tuesday (January 4) at approximately 2.15pm as a woman in her sixties was walking along Copse Way in Luton.

The victim was approached by two boys; the main offender grabbed her bag and dragged her to the floor.  He produced a plastic orange toy gun and demanded she hand over her money. The victim refused and the two boys fled on foot towards Grampian Way.

The two boys are described as white, aged about 10 and 12 years old.  The older boy wore a dark hooded top and the other a light hooded top.

DC Joanne Merry, investigating, is keen to trace members of the public who can help identify the offenders from the descriptions given or who witnessed the incident.

Anyone with information relating to this crime can contact DC Merry at Luton Police Station, in confidence, on 01582 394265, or text 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
