Broken Down Morris Minor Stolen

A Morris Minor has been stolen from the roadside as its owner sought help because it had broken down.

The vehicle, a pale grey Morris Minor convertible, dating from 1954, index NNM473, had broken down on the Chelmsford bound side of the A130, near the Sadler’s Farm area.

The owner left the car on the verge, where it was not blocking traffic, and went to seek help. On her return, she found the vehicle was missing and enquiries suggest that it was not moved by a vehicle recovery firm.

Police believe the Morris Minor, which has an estimated value of around £2500, was stolen by unknown suspects between 8:30pm and 9:30pm on Saturday September 24, 2011, and are appealing for anyone with information about this crime to contact Grays police station, where the investigating officer is Pc Emma Ridings, on 0300 3334444, by calling 101 within Essex, or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
