Canvey man acheives his writing dream

Chris Jones was a former machine operator for Visteon but was made redundant when the site in Basildon closed last year.

Since March 2009, the Canvey man's been working on a book for children - despite not being a great speller and having never used a computer before - while juggling his part-time job as an ambulance driver.

The fantasy 'Cameron Jack and the Key to the Universe' is about a boy who travels between worlds and was quickly snapped up by the first published he approached with it.

They even want a sequel which Chris is currently finishing.
