Has Essex Landlady Gone Barking Mad?
Julie Bain, who runs the Crown Hotel in Manningtree, has created an à la carte menu for dogs.
The pub landlady told Heart: "There's a totally separate area for the dogs and at the moment the dogs are actually dragging their owners through the door so it's a really good feel-good factor for the trade."
On the menu, a choice of chicken, ham, beef, turkey or sausages - as well as free doggie biscuits and water.
And it doesn't stop there!
Julie, who owns a Yorkshire terrier-poodle cross called Jazz, added: "We're working on doggie birthday parties with a special cake made by our chef Becky using a special ingredient as well as a dog walking club."
A five-year-old boy has suffered life-threatening injuries when a suspected learner driver crashed into him in Saffron Walden.
A man who set a fire on the ninth floor of a block of flats in Southend, killing a neighbour and her unborn child, has been made subject of a hospital order.
Heart can reveal since so called 'legal highs' were banned last May - Essex Police have made 9 arrests relating to the supply or possession of the drugs.
