Man Critical After Colchester Crash

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering serious head injuries during a crash in Colchester.

The 21 year-old was injured when the car he was driving collided with a zebra crossing post at the entrance to Tesco's in The Hive on Greenstead Road at around 3.20am yesterday.

He was taken to hospital in Colchester but then transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge for treatment.

Investigating officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for any witnesses who saw the crash or the moments leading up to the incident. A white medium-sized car stopped at the scene and officers want to trace the occupant of this vehicle as they may hold vital witness information.
