Man Dies In South Ockendon Crash

A man has died and a omwan has been taken to hospital after a crash in South Ockendon.

Two cars - a blue Ford Focus estate and a black Ford Kuga - collided on North Road at around 8.15pm yesterday.

The driver of the Focus, a 77 year-old man from Upminster, was declared dead the scene.

A woman in her 50s from South Ockendon, who was driving the Kuga, has been taken to hospital in London for treatment. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police closed the road for around six hours so recovery of the vehicles could take place and so officers could investigate.
