Man Tries To Rape Woman In Harlow

A man has tried to rape a woman in Harlow.

The 65 year-old victim has told police she was approached by a man on Southern Way near Paringdon Road at around 6am yesterday.
 
He asked the woman for a cigarette, before following her towards Staple Tye, pushing her in a bush and attacking her.
 
Essex Police said: "The suspect is described as white, aged in his mid-20s, 5ft 2-3ins tall, of small to medium build, with short dark hair and was wearing a blue checked shirt and light trousers.
 
"He was very articulate and said he came from Romania and was homeless."
 
Officers are also looking for a man who walked passed the victim and her attacker while he took the cigarette from her.
 
The woman is being supported by specially trained officers.
