Marks Tey: Women Dies In A12 Crash

A woman has died after she was hit by a car on the A12 near Marks Tey.

It happened just after one this morning (Saturday August 11th).

The 29-year-old from the Romford area died at the scene.

The 44-year-old female car driver, who lives in the Marks Tey area, was treated for shock by paramedics at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "We believe the woman crossed the carriageway after having walked off from a vehicle she had been travelling in. Its driver had stopped in a lay-by."

A section of the carriageway was closed until 8am while forensic collision investigators carried out their enquiries.
