Police Name Two Men Killed In Braintree Crash

Police have named two men killed in a crash in Braintree, that left three others seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to Gosfield Road just before 5pm yesterday after the crash involving a VW Polo and a Ford Fiesta.

The fire service says one vehicle had caught fire.

The driver of the Fiesta, David Bradley, 30, of Beckers Green Road, Braintree, and the rear seat passenger in the Polo, James Simmons, 18, of Hillside Gardens, Braintree, were declared dead at the scene.

The man driving the Polo was flown to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge where he is in a critical condition.

A woman in her 20s who was in the front passenger seat in the Fiesta has been taken to Broomfield Hospital with serious injuries, as a 16 year-old girl who was in the front seat of the Polo.

The road was closed for around five hours while officers investigated.
