South Essex Man Dies After Car Crashes Into Wall

A man has died after the car he was driving crashed into a garden wall in Stanford-le-Hope.

Emergency services were called to Branksome Drive, near to the junction with  Oxley Gardens, at around 12.15pm yesterday.
 
The man, who was in his 50s and from the area, was flown to Basildon Hospital but later died from his injuries.
 
The road was closed for more than three hours while police investigated and re-opened at around 3.30pm.
 
Essex Police said: "The car involved was a grey Vauxhall. No other vehicles were believed to have been involved.
 
"Any witnesses or anyone with information about events leading to the incident should contact the investigating officer Pc Joe Gasparini at Chigwell road policing office on 101."
