Low-fare airline easyJet is to start a new within-England service from next June operating three-times-a-week flights between Southend airport and Newquay in Cornwall.
The airline hopes to attract almost 10,000 passengers on the route each year.
EasyJet commercial manager Hugh Aitken said: "We're thrilled to be announcing this new route which opens up a fast connection to the English Riviera."
The Newquay route will be easyJet's 14th from Southend, with the airline recently announcing services to Berlin and the Polish city of Krakow.
