There will be fixed road closures in place in the start and finish locations of the Devon Stage of The Tour of Britain on Thursday 15 September, and rolling road closures along the route of the race enforced by police and civilian motorcycles.
The rolling road closures will only be in effect for a limited period to allow the race and race vehicles to travel through towns and villages safely and to allow residents, businesses and visitors ample opportunity to see the event safely.
Closed roads will not open until the final vehicle in the convoy, known as the broom wagon, has passed.
EXETER (Start)
The entire length of Cathedral Yard will be closed from 5am to 1pm.
From 10am to 10:30am, the High Street will be closed between Bedford Square and Fore Street, South Street will be closed between Cathedral Yard and Fore Street, and Fore Street will be closed between High Street and Market Street.
Then Fore Street, from Market Street out of Exeter, will be closed as part of the rolling road closure.
EXMOUTH (Finish)-
The Esplanade will be closed from Morton Crescent to Carlton Hill from 5am to 6.30pm. Business access to the Manor Pavilion and The Bath House will be permitted until 10.30am on the day.
Some bus services in Exmouth will unfortunately be subject to delays and diversions.
Exmouth Cricket Club is also opening its grounds for the event, offering secure car parking for £5 and bike parking for free.
