Operation A Success For City Striker

Exeter City striker Adam Stansfield's recuperating in hospital after an operation on his colon was a success.

The 31 year old was diagnosed with bowel cancer earlier this month and went into the RD&E hospital last week for an operation to remove a bit of his colon.

The club says, "The operation was a success, Stanno was up when we visited this afternoon and looking happy but tired. He was even cracking a few jokes!"

"He is extrememly grateful to all the well-wishers over the last few weeks and very thankful that he is now being allowed to rest and recuperate so he can return to action as soon as possible."
