Have loads of unique fun with Heroes & Highwaymen at Wrest Park this Bank Holiday!

Lady Jemima cordially invites you and your family to her peaceful picnic in the beautiful grounds of Wrest Park.

But beware, rumours abound that a dastardly highwayman lurks in the vicinity! With a garrison of 18th century soldiers on hand to protect you, there is nothing to fear, is there?

Wrest Park’s fashionable 1770s resident, Jemima, Marchioness Grey, will be welcoming her aristocratic friends and visitors alike to the unique Heroes and Highwaymen Event this Sunday 24th and Monday 25th August.

She will be taking tea in her fabulous garden, while the soldiers will teach your mini redcoats the art of military musket use and a host of hobby horse hilarity.

Musicians will play as you enjoy your picnic and there's the chance for you all to cheer for your favourite soldier in the afternoon horse race. The children are sure to love the Georgian Puppet Show, hearing the Highwayman’s tales and getting their face painted.

But will someone have to stand and deliver before the day is out? Is the highwayman sneaky enough to disturb the perfect English afternoon, rob Jemima and escape the redcoats? Make sure you keep watch, as the exciting drama unfolds before your very eyes, you could even be a hero and join in the chase to catch the blaggard!

The event runs each day from 10am to 6pm with admission just £9.00 for adults, £8.10 for concessions, £5.40 for children or £23.40 for a family ticket.English Heritage members go free.

Visitors can also enjoy access to Wrest Park’s magnificent 90 acre grounds and restored garden areas, exhibitions inside its historic garden buildings and French-style mansion and Walled Garden, complete with visitor centre and children’s play area.
