Man Robbed in Welwyn

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a robbery in Welwyn Garden City on New Years’ Eve.

The incident occurred around 10.45pm on Friday, December 31. The victim, a 17 year old boy from Hitchin, was walking with two friends through a car park behind Waitrose on Gresley Close, when he was approached by the offender.

The offender showed the victim a knife and demanded he hand over his belongings. He handed over his mobile phone and cigarettes and the offender ran off towards the town centre.

The offender has been described as a white man, around 6ft 1in tall, aged between 19 and 22, with short blond hair and wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers.
