Police in Luton are appealing for information after an elderly woman had her handbag pulled from her in her own home.

The incident happened in St Thomas’s Road, Luton on Thursday (Feb 10) at approximately 6.30pm when two men entered her home through an insecure door.

The victim was sitting on her sofa at the time and was approached by one of the offenders who push the woman and grabbed her bag from her hands before both leaving the scene.

Unfortunately the handbag contained a large amount of cash, and the officer in charge of this investigation, PC Layton, is keen to trace anyone who saw the two men in the St Thomas’s area before or after the offence.

The offenders are described as two white men, approximately 5’8” tall wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information can contact PC Layton, at Luton Police Station, in confidence, on 01234 841212, or text information to 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
