Girl Bitten By Dog In Northampton

A 7 year-old girl was bitten by a dog as she walked to school in Northampton.

The girl was with her mum walking through Blackthorn Wood, near the Prentice Court entrance, when a dog that was not on its lead jumped up at her and bit her hand and arm.

The youngster was not injured in the incident but police would like to speak with the dog's owner about the incident.

The dog that bit the girl was white with a brown patch on the left side of its face, of stocky build and a short coat of fur. It was about 50cm tall.

The dog's owner was a white woman, in her 40s, about 5ft 7in, with long brown, straight hair, of slim build and was wearing glasses. She was also wearing a waist length leather jacket, white chunky knit scarf, dark coloured trousers and dark boots.

She also had a second dog with her, which was a Labrador size, light brown and with a short coat.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone with information about it.
