A pedestrian has died after being knocked down by a car in Harpenden High Street.
Emergency services were called at 1125am this morning to reports a man had been knocked over along the High Street near Sainsbury's by a grey VW.
Police and ambulance staff are on the scene along with the fire service.
An Air Ambulance has been called to help.
Police say they have closed the High Street between Sun Lane and Vaughan Road and is likely to be closed for some time to come.
Just before 2 o'clock, Hertfordshire Police confirmed the man who was knocked over, had sadly died. His relatives have yet to be informed.
