Heart's Mini for Hospice

Heart Breakfast's Stuart and Natalie handed over a brand new Mini to Keech Hospice Care in Luton's Chief Executive Mike Keel, thanks to your generosity and our charity Have a Heart.

Heart has funded the Mini to help hospice at home nurses provide care and support to seriously ill children and their families in their own homes.

Natalie, who was recently thrown in jail as part of Keech’s Jail & Bail fundraiser, said: “The work that Keech does for children across Hertfordshire Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes is truly inspiring and we are delighted to support them again.

Stuart Said, “We’d like to thank all our Heart listeners for their amazing generosity with our Have a Heart Appeal. By enabling us to provide the Mini and nursing hours, their donations will make a real difference to improve the lives of seriously ill children and their families in our local area.”

Mike Keel added: “Heart FM’s listeners have again supported Keech and we would also like to thank them all.  The support of our community is crucial:  the funds raised in our community allows us to continue to offer our free care to those with life limiting illnesses.

“There’s more demand for the care that Keech provides we're caring for more people than ever before.   But we can't do this without the community's continued support."

How you raised the money

The donation follows our nationwide Have a Heart Appeal earlier this year which raised over £330,000 for Children’s Hospices UK. The 2011 Appeal included a star-studded fundraising extravaganza featuring a whole host of celebrities and guests including chart-toppers JLS and Westlife, The X Factor’s Matt Cardle, Olly Murs.
