Letchworth: Man Seriously Ill After Crash

An elderly man is seriously ill after his car collided with a tree in Letchworth.

It happened on Letchworth Lane at around 11.30pm yesterday (Sunday 27 April).

Police say for reasons not yet known the 83-year-old lost control of the blue VW Gold and colided with a tree.

He has been taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage where he is said to be in a serious condition.
 
The incident is being investigated by PC Andy Ralph who is based at Hitchin.

He said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have either witnessed the collision or have any information about the driver leading up to the incident taking place."
