Fire engine overturns

Police in Gloucester are appealing for witnesses after a collision between a fire engine and a car.

It happened just before 8.30pm on Saturday at the traffic lights on Cole Avenue.

The Gloucestershire Fire Service engine was on route to an emergency when it collided with a silver Mercedes and overturned.

The driver of the Mercedes and two firemen received minor injuries while the fireman driving the fire engine received serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The road was closed off while Police conducted a collision investigation.
