Green Flag awards

28 July 2010, 06:00

Green Flags will be flying in three Gloucestershire parks from today.

Hatherley Park, Naunton Park and Montpellier Gardens, all in Cheltenham, have been given the award.

The national awards are given out for green spaces that are clean, kind to the environment and safe for families to use.

Only green spaces that are open to the public and are free to enter are eligible to win a Green Flag through the scheme, which is run by environmental charities Keep Britain Tidy, BTCV and GreenSpace.
