The Stroud based charity embraces technology

The Meningitis Trust, based in Stroud are launching a brand new way of spreading their message.  They are developing an application for the Apple iphone which will explain the signs and symptoms of the disease.

Early detection is the key to surviving the potentially fatal condition and the Trust's main priority is making sure as many people as possible know how to spot it.

Since the Trust formed in 1986, more than 20 million credit card size 'signs and symptoms' cards have been given out to the public and this new development is aimed at moving with the times and getting things virtual.

Communications Officer Liz Fenwick spoke to Heart's Kate Justice about the reasons behind the idea and what exatcly it will offer:
