Gloucestershire Constabulary is starting a recruitment campaign for new police constables.

They say they 'are looking for motivated, dedicated and resourceful individuals to join the force, which is marking its 175th year in 2014.'

It's been more than three years since the Force last recruited externally.

Chief Constable Suzette Davenport says she is looking forward to welcoming the new recruits:

"We are looking for a group of dedicated individuals, committed to what can sometimes be a very difficult job. However, I believe it's a privilege to be a police officer and the right people will find it a hugely rewarding experience."

Anyone interested in finding out more will need to register online and complete an initial assessment process at www.gloucestershire.police.uk

The site also includes a list of frequently asked questions; however, if you have a specific question email: PoliceOfficerRecruitment@gloucestershire.pnn.police.uk

The link to the online registration and application process goes live at 10.00am (GMT) on Monday 6 January 2014.
