Our Gold Club team smashed their fundraising targets for Brighton Half Marathon and raised an amazing amount for Rockinghorse.
Team Heart At Brighton Half Marathon 2014
Led by Tom and Jack from Heart Breakfast, over 150 members of Team Heart took on the Brighton Half Marathon challenge.
It was an amazing day on the seafront, and our team were out in force all raising money for Have a Heart.
This year Team Heart at Brighton Half Marathon were raising money for Rockinghorse, to help sick children and their families in the local area. Rockinghorse Children's Charity is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital, and funds raised by Have a Heart will be used to fund a cutting edge new, non-surgical unit for treating serious illnesses at the hospital.
Within the A&E ward, a medical gas system will be installed in two separate rooms which will administer pain relief for children to be treated for serious injuries without the need for a general anaesthetic. This means recovery will be quicker, and may mean that children are able to go home on the same day, rather than stay overnight which can cause distress to both the children and to their parents. This is cutting edge technology that'll make a real difference to children who suffer serious illness, and you can help make it a reality by joining Team Heart.
