Team Heart At Brighton Half Marathon 2014
Take on a half marathon challenge on 16th February 2014 with Have a Heart.
Last year breakfast presenter Tom was joined by a team of over 90 Heart listeners to run the stunning Brighton Half Marathon, raising thousands of pounds for Have a Heart. In 2014 we want to go bigger and better!
This year Team Heart at Brighton Half Marathon will be raising money for Rockinghorse, to help sick children and their families in the local area. Rockinghorse Children's Charity is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital, and funds raised by Have a Heart will be used to fund a cutting edge new, non-surgical unit for treating serious illnesses at the hospital.
Within the A&E ward, a medical gas system will be installed in two separate rooms which will administer pain relief for children to be treated for serious injuries without the need for a general anaesthetic. This means recovery will be quicker, and may mean that children are able to go home on the same day, rather than stay overnight which can cause distress to both the children and to their parents. This is cutting edge technology that'll make a real difference to children who suffer serious illness, and you can help make it a reality by joining Team Heart.
