Driver Bailed Over M20 Crash

A foreign lorry driver has been questioned and released on bail after being arrested over the death of a man in a crash on the M20 in Kent.

The victim died after his car was hit by a lorry as it sat stationary on the hard shoulder of the motorway near Leeds Castle.

The collision on the southbound carriageway of the motorway, between junctions 8 and 9  towards at the end of Monday evening's rush hour.

The road was closed for more than three hours, and traffic diverted on to the A20, while emergency services dealt with the incident and police investigated, reopening at about 11.30pm.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen what happened at around 6.45pm. They would also like to hear from anyone who saw a white lorry driving coastbound on the M20 before the incident.
