Pregnant Woman Pushed to Floor in Robbery

A pregnant woman has been pushed to the floor by a man who tried to take money from a newsagents in Ashford.

It happened at the store on Gladstone Road in Willesborough on 21st April.

The 21 year-old woman, who works at the shop, had tried to stop the man from getting behind the counter and taking cash from the till.

He took some money but dropped it as he ran away.

“The pregnant woman was taken to the William Harvey hospital to be checked, and thankfully there are no concerns for her health or that of her baby.” Said DC Pete Edwards. “However, this offender had no regard for her condition and I am keen to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity which may help this investigation.”

The offender is described as white, aged 26-27, 5’8” tall, chubby build, short light brown hair, clean shaven, wearing a beige zip up top, blue tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and round glasses.

 It is believed he may be linked to a blue Ford KA.

Officers conducted investigations at the premises and house-to-house enquiries in the area.
