Police Officer Injured

A police officer is in hospital with serious injuries after his patrol car crashed during a chase in Rainham last night.

Officers had been called to reports of a car being stolen in Luton Road in Chatham just after midnight. The collision happened as they were following the suspected thief through Rainham.

The stolen car was later found abandoned.

A man has been arrested and is now being questioned.
