Sutton Valence Primary Writing Week

21-25 March was writing week at Sutton Valence Primary School.

The week began with National Poetry Day where each class produced a graffiti table on their thoughts on "What is a hero?"

On Monday each year received a Wonka bar with a golden ticket allowing them access to "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" day on Friday.

The school was transformed into Willy Wonka's factory with chocolate waterfall, dragon boat and a 7ft Wonka bar!

The Mayor at Sutton Valence Primary Writing WeekThe Mayor was invited to come and cut the ribbon on the Wonka gates to officially open the day. All the children were honorary Oompa Loompas and they had decorated chefs hats, along with inventing new sweets, posters and invention rooms for the
factory.

The great Mr Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompa presided over the day, along with teachers and year 6 pupils who were in character as part of their homework assignment. In the afternoon there was a "Wonka" hot chocolate bar for all, along with
scrumdelicious goodies to be consumed!!

Sam and James at Sutton Valence Primary Writing WeIt was an amazing day where the children became completely immersed in the classic story of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl. Many thanks go to the Mayor, Hotel Chocolat and Grammer Printers for their
help with this project.
