Cannabis thought to be worth around £1.4m has been found being grown on an industrial estate in Whitstable.

More than 2,000 plants have been taken away from the site by police after the factory was found by officers from Kent's Serious and Organised Crime squad.

Det Sgt Andy Nicoll said: "The action is part of a larger ongoing countywide operation by Kent Police's Serious and Organised Crime Unit.

"It followed some painstakingly-thorough investigative work by the team, which took us to this location."

Two juveniles were arrested. They were charged with the production of cannabis and have been remanded to secure accommodation.
