Boxing Day Shooting Victim Named
The victim of a fatal shooting on Boxing Day in central London has been named by police.
While formal identification awaits, officers are confident the deceased is Hassan Isman Omer - 31 (dob 16.05.82) from the Poplar area.
Next of kin have been informed.
A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place at 1500hrs on Saturday, 28 December at Westminster Mortuary.
Officers continue to appeal for information and witnesses following the shooting.
Police were called at 03:04hrs on Thursday, 26 December, to reports of a shooting at a private function inside the Avalon nightclub, Shaftesbury Avenue, W1.
Police and London Ambulance Service attended to find a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Detectives are continuing to appeal to anyone who was inside the Avalon nightclub at the event, or who witnessed events inside the club, to contact them.
