Cutbacks may lead to more training for Police recruits

Police recruits may have to volunteer as Specials for up to two years first - as part of plans to cut costs.

It comes as police call on more people to volunteer - during National Specials Weekend.

Met Police aim to more than double the number of specials from 3-thousand to about 7-thousand by 2012.
