It's a key weekend in the regeneration of Elephant and Castle as the southern roundabout is converted into a traffic-light controlled junction.

It's hoped the new lay-out will smooth traffic flow through the area.

It's costing just under 3 million pounds and is part of the Mayor of London's Great Outdoors Initiative, which aims to improve public spaces across the capital.

As part of the work, which is due to be totally completed by spring next year, paved areas will be widened, lighting will be improved, there'll be extra trees, new pedestrian crossings and new cycle lanes.
