Fire in Stamford Hill

There's been a fire in a derelict building in Stamford Hill.

A hundred and fifty people had to be evacuated overnight on Saturday 21 May 2011 after the fire in a derelict building.

The Fire Brigade were called to Overlea Road just before 1am where two buildings were alight.

A two hundred meter hazard zone was put in place because gas mains were nearby.

At about 4.30am fire crews allowed people back in their homes, with the fire brought under control shortly after.
