Tube Workers To Be Balloted For Strikes

London Underground's called on the RMT to abandon plans for a strike ballot.

The union says it's been left with no choice, because tube managers have refused to withdraw plans to axe 800 jobs.

It says the cuts will lead to staff shortages, making tube stations a "mugger's paradise".

But London Underground says safety and customer service will stay its top priorities.
