Signs to look for
These are the main signs which NHS MK and BalancED MK say could indicate someone you know has an eating disorder.
Behavioural Symptoms:
- Social withdrawal - children may decide they don't want to be around their peer group, particularly around meal times
- Discarding lunches
- Avoiding meals
- Changes in eating behaviour
- Changes in everyday behaviour
- Depression
Physical Symptoms:
- Weight loss - this may be hard to spot if you are around the person every day
- Dizzyness
- Loss of vision
- Fainting
