Lily Allen X Factor Twitter attack

Allen finds the show too scripted and formulaic

Lily Allen has taken to her Twitter account to attack the X Factor, calling it "too set up" and "too scripted".

The pregnant star didn't seem to enjoy the show, adding that "...it's everything that I detest about modern western culture. Cowell is the only one who really benefits". The opinionated singer also said "I don't know how Simon Cowell has managed to get away with essentially copywriting the talent contest. It's beyond me, really."

Despite Lily's discontent, the X Factor's new series went off to a flying start on Saturday night, recording its highest viewing figures to date for the launch night.
