Arminghall Incident: Man Charged

A man has been charged today with grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident in Arminghall near Norwich which was reported to police yesterday.

Officers were called at approximately 4pm yesterday following reports that a woman had been injured inside a property in Arminghall Lane.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was initially taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment to serious head injuries. She was later transferred the same evening to Addenbrookes Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

39-year-old Thomas Crompton from Arminghall Lane in Arminghall, arrested in connection with the incident and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, was charged this afternoon.

He will appear before Norwich Magistrates Court tomorrow morning at 9.30am (Wednesday 13 June).
