Four Men Threaten Pub Landlord

Armed police officers have arrested four people after some men threatened a pub landlord by claiming they had a gun.

It happened at around 10.50pm in the Tramways after four men were refused alcohol. The men demanded to be served and threatened the landlord claiming they had a firearm but he continued to refuse to serve the men before calling the police.

The men left the pub and armed response officers arrested four people on Lowestoft Road a short while later in connection with the incident. No firearm was recovered and two men aged 39, 27 and two 20-year-old men, have been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Earlier in the evening the men were witnessed in the Feathers public house, also on the High Street, where they were overheard talking about being in possession of a firearm.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information concerning it.
