Great Yarmouth: Man Charged After Armed Robbery

A man's been charged after an armed robbery on a shop in Great Yarmouth.

38-year-old Kevin Ross of no fixed abode has been charged with robbery; possession of imitation firearm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of heroin, and possession of herbal cannabis and cannabis resin.

He's due at Great Yarmouth Magistrates on Monday morning.

A 64-year-old man was hit over the head with a hammer in the robbery and he's now been released from the James Paget Hospital and is recovering at home.

Another 38-year-old arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on police bail until 30 January 2013.
