Great Yarmouth: Woman Arrested In Murder Investigation

Officers investigating the murder of a 38 year old man in Yarmouth have arrested a woman in connection with the incident.

A 40 year old woman from the Peterborough area was arrested late this morning (Thursday 14 November 2013) and will be transferred to Norfolk for questioning in due course.

The victim, who has been identified as Paulius Jakovelvas, had been living in the Great Yarmouth area since August.  Post mortem examinations show that Mr Jakovelvas is believed to have died from severe head injuries.

Detective Inspector Andy Guy, Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, appealed for further information, saying: "I am encouraged by the response we have received so far to our appeals.  I would ask that people continue to contact us with any information regarding the investigation."

Following a magistrate's extension, a man in his late 30s from the Peterborough area remains in Norfolk Police custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday 12 November 2013.
