Norwich: Robbery at Bookmakers

Staff at a bookies on Old Palace Road in Norwich have been threatened with a knife duiring a robbery.

It happened on Friday (October 28) just before 4pm when a man went into William Hill on Old Palace Road and threatened staff with a knife and demanded money.

The robber got away with a quantity of cash and ran off towards a block of flats next to the bookmakers.

No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 11, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, with short cropped hair. He was wearing a brown and white horizontal striped hooded top and jeans.

Officers are linking this to a similar robbery which happened at Betfred bookmakers on Hall Road, Norwich, last Wednesday (October 19).

Police investigating this incident released the image of a man wanted in connection with robbery on Saturday (October 22). Mark Barton, 29, who is from the Norwich area and also has connections in Leeds, remains outstanding.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area before or after the robbery, or anyone else with information about this incident.
