Police are looking for thieves who stole a cash machine from a bank in Reepham using a stolen JCB digger.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a theft of an ATM machine that took place in Reepham just after midnight this morning (Wednesday 16 May).

Officers received a report of the theft at about 12.45am which took place at the HSBC Bank in the Market Place in the town.

A JCB digger, stolen from a nearby farm at Little Witchingham, was used in the raid. Police believed around five or six males were involved in the incident.

The suspects, who were wearing balaclavas, made off in two vehicles believed to be a black Ford Focus RS and a dark coloured Toyota Hilux. The digger was left at the scene and the ATM is thought to have been taken in one of the other two cars.

Enquiries are on-going with crime scene investigators gathering forensic evidence and CCTV footage being studied. Anyone who may have information in relation to the incident or saw any suspicious activity at around the time of the crime should contact DS Chris Burgess Great Yarmouth at CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
