Soldiers Send Messages Home For Christmas

Soldiers in Afghanistan are sending home messages to their friends and family this Christmas.

Here are just a few of them from Suffolk based soldiers:

Sergeant Karl Spicer from 4 Regiment Army Air corps based at Wattisham Airfield in Ipswich is originally from Stowmarket:

"Hi, Sergeant Karl Spicer here from Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, wishing you all at home a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. I would like to thank you all for your blueys and your parcels that have kept me going over the last few months. It's been a massive moral boost so thank you all for everything that you've sent out. Wish you all a very happy Christmas and again, a prosperous New Year. Thanks again for your support."

Another message is from Lance Corporal David Thompson from 4 Regiment Army Air corps based at Wattisham Airfield in Ipswich, who is originally from Eastbourne:

"Hiya, I'm Lance Corporal David Thompson in Camp Bastion. I'd like to wish everyone at home a very Merry Christmas especially my family and friends back in Eastbourne and Ipswich."

And Staff Sergeant Andrew Eagle, with JHFA 6 Regiment Army Air corps based at Bury St. Edmunds, who is originally from Ipswich:

"Hello there, I'm Staff Sergeant Eagle, hello to all my friends and family back home. I know I've only been here a week but settling in well. Have a very good Christmas and love to you all, see you in the New Year."
