Lowestoft band the Darkness have confirmed a big outdoor summer gig for next summer.

They perform will perform at Thetford Forest as part of Forestry Commission Live Music 2012.

The band - brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain and Ed Graham - are currently enjoying a UK indoor tour following storming live sets at Download and Sonisphere festivals during the summer.

Justin Hawkins from the band said: "I have often walked through Thetford Forest, enchanted by bird-song, mesmerised by the rhythm of nesting squirrels.   My urge to fill the trees with music of my own can no longer be denied. Thetford has
provided The Darkness with much enchantment and inspiration over the years. It's time we gave something bark"

Income generated from ticket sales is spent on improving the local forest for both people and wildlife.

The Darkness plus guests will be performing:

Saturday 14th July, Thetford Forest, nr Brandon, Suffolk.

Tickets go on sale at 9.00am this Friday 25th November 2011
