Trimley St Mary: Man Shot In Leg

Police are appealing for information after a man was shot in the leg in Trimley St Mary near Felixstowe this afternoon (Saturday 28th December).

Police were called just after 1pm by the ambulance service, who had been contacted by a member of the public who had found a man injured in Cordy’s Lane.

The man, in his 20s, had suffered a wound to his leg.  He was taken to Ipswich Hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Inspector Darryl Skuse said:  "I would like to reassure members of the public that we do not believe that this was a random attack, and we think that the victim may have been known to the offenders.

"Officers will now be doing all they can to find those responsible and I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who has any information to contact us as soon as possible.”

Police are carrying out extensive enquiries in the area and are appealing for anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to contact them on 101.
