2nd Person Dies After Nighclub Crush
A second woman has died, nearly three weeks after a nightclub crush that killed a 22 year old student.
19 year old Laurene-Danielle Jackson from Wembley never recovered after being hurt at the Lava and Ignite club in Northampton.
She died yesterday in hospital.
Councillor David Mackintosh, leader elect of Northampton Borough Council, said: "It’s terrible that a young woman with her whole life ahead of her should die in this way. My heart goes out to her family. We will continue to support Northamptonshire Police as they investigate the circumstances that have led now to two tragic deaths.”
Northampton Borough Council is the licensing authority. Last month, the council’s licensing sub-committee agreed to suspend the licence of Lava and Ignite pending a full review, which will take place on Monday 14 November.
