Crash Kills Teenagers

A 19 year old man and 17 year old girl have been killed in a head-on car crash on the outskirts of Kettering, Northamptonshire.

The teenagers were in a yellow Citroen Saxo that was being driven along Warkton Road towards the village of Grafton Underwood on the evening of Tuesday 10 January 2012.

The car crossed the road and hit a silver Vauxhall Astra that was going the other way.

The driver who died has been named by police as Ryan Kirk, aged 19, who lived at Briggs Lodge, Denford Ash near Thrapston.  The girl has been named as Charlotte Filer, 17, who lived at Lilac Place, Kettering.

The driver of the Astra - a 33 year old woman from Kettering - was taken to Kettering General Hospital but wasn't badly injured.
