Northants Police have released a picture of a safe stolen from a school, which contained money raised by children for charity.
Overnight Friday 1st to Saturday2nd March, there were break-ins at Hackleton Primary School and also Little Houghton Primary School and the Day Nursery.
At each location, the offenders forced their way into the premises and made off with a considerable amount of cash.
In the Hackleton burglary, they gained entry between 0005hrs and 0035hrs through a front window and then forced open a door leading to the finance manager's office from where they removed a safe.
The cash in the safe had been raised by the children at the school to assist Paralympian Anna Turney to purchase new equipment for her bid to reach the next Paralympics in Brazil in 2016.
It is believed the offender made their escape along the side entrance road of the school and that a vehicle was used in the getaway.
